Michael Gelbart
ES Teacher
Michael Gelbart is excited to be entering his sixth year teaching in the upper elementary grades at SCCS. Mr. Gelbart has taught in a variety of roles from grade 3 through grade 12. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, he has spent the last 16 years exploring, learning, teaching and parenting in New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, and Bolivia. He has a master’s degree in International Education from Framingham State University, a BA in Education from The University of New Mexico and a BA in History and Political Science from The Colorado College. When not in the classroom, Mr. G spends most of his time parenting his two beautiful children ages 8 and 1 ½. He loves hiking, biking, team sports and exploring the globe. He strives to create a nurturing and welcoming community in his classroom where all children feel supported, challenged, valued and accepted.
