The Learning Specialist

The learning specialist is part of the Special Services team. The Learning Specialist provides extra help and support for students with learning difficulties and learning disabilities. The main responsibilities are:

• Develops, implements, and reviews the status and progress of 504/IEP by coordinating with students, parents, teachers, and administration.
• Responsible for coordinating the 504/IEP meeting schedule with principals, teachers and specialists.
• Plans and communicates accommodations for standardized testing.
• Coordinate weekly paraeducator meetings to support their interventions with the assigned student. 
• Academic testing services for students to measure student progress and plan specific areas of learning support.
• Provides pull out/push in services for al 504/IEP students
