Dr. Jessica Gilway
General Director
Dr. Gilway is currently the Director of Santa Cruz Cooperative School in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. She has served as the Director of SCCS for 4 years, the Director of Two Rivers Community School for 4 years, the Founding Principal of GALA for 2 years, and the Director of Curriculum & Instruction of Urban Community School for 2 years. She was an educator teaching 5th through 8th grade for 9 years as well. She served as a professor in Expressive Arts Therapy & Educational Leadership at Appalachian State University. She has a bachelor's degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Environmental Studies & Latin American Studies, as well as Spanish. She has a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of New Mexico, and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Appalachian State University. She is a licensed bilingual teacher and school administrator in the states of North Carolina, New Mexico, and Ohio. In addition, Jessica is a certified yoga and mindfulness instructor. Jessica is married to Michael, who is a bilingual educator (Spanish/English) with more than 20 years of teaching experience, and two children, Lillian (age 9), and Esteban (age 3).
