SCCS SCHOOL
Honor Roll / Academic Recognitions
Secondary Honor Roll
will be published in the newsletter and online at the end of each academic semester.
Honor Roll recognition in 6th-8th grades is based on academic average in core subjects only.
Honor Roll recognition in high school is also based on the academic average in core subjects only.
Some special recognitions may consider the overall GPA. There are three Honor Roll categories at each grade level. Qualifying standards are as follows:
- Highest Honor Roll: minimum average of 93%, with no grade below 85%
- High Honor Roll: minimum average of 90%, with no grade below 80%
- Honor Roll: minimum average of 87%, with no grade below 75% and only one C-grade.
A student who has one or more behavior observations on the discipline record or who surpasses the allowable number of absences and / or tardies will not be eligible for the Honor Roll.
If a student in middle or high school has twenty (20) or more tardies in a semester, he/she will not be eligible for any academic or leadership recognition (Honor Roll, Presidential Awards, NJHS, NHS, STUCO, etc.).
If a student at SCCS has 10 or more unexcused absences per semester, he/she will not be eligible for academic recognition. Any excused absences resulting from a student participating in a SCCS event (GIN, Friendship Games, etc.) or a National Event will not be counted toward the 10 absences.
