The Student Success Team (SST) at SCCS provides comprehensive learning support across all divisions, ensuring every student thrives academically and socially. We offer tailored ELL/SLL literacy interventions for English/Spanish Language Learners and support math review in small groups for upper elementary students. Our approach combines pull-out and in-class support, fostering collaboration among teachers to assist students with higher needs.

We aim to reshape community perceptions of student support, celebrating each student’s unique traits and learning styles. The SST reviews teacher referrals for students of concern and facilitates communication among parents, teachers, paraeducators, and administration, guiding families through the educational process.

Additionally, we develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans based on thorough external evaluations to support students academically and socio-emotionally. We are committed to implementing the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework effectively, ensuring that every student receives the appropriate level of tailored support and empowers teachers with effective classroom management strategies to foster a positive learning environment. We also believe that by using Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Tier 1 and 2 instruction will be of the highest research-based level, equipping teachers to better meet the diverse needs of all students.
