The SCCS cheerleading squad initiated about four decades ago! We now have two teams: Varsity with 14 girls from grades 9th to 12th grade, and a JV squad with 14 girls from grades 6th to 8th grade. Both teams are trained by a Cheerleading Coach and the training includes cheers, stunts, dances, and choreography.
The cheerleading squad prepares their cheers and stunts to perform at the local league where SCCS soccer, basketball, and volleyball teams face off against other Santa Cruz schools. But the most important event is the Friendship Games, where our sport teams compete against other American schools from Cochabamba and La Paz.
At the Friendship Games, the Cheerleading Exhibition is one of the most awaited events, where their stunts, dances, and choreography are presented to give a stunning show.
